A quality Early Model 1933 SA Dagger (Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch) by a knife maker still in business today: J.A. Henckels of Solingen Zwillingswerk. The blade on this one is bright anbd clean. It's been cleaned hard along the way. The acid etched "Alles für Deutschland" motto and "J.A. Henckels of Solingen Zwillingswerk" maker mark are crisp and beautifully executed! The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit remains nice and tight! This blade rates a solid Exc+/Exc++. It shows minor age spotting and surface scratches throughout. The scabbard has a to the leading edge 3" south of the upper fitting. It is steel based and brown anodized. It retains a good brown finish. the scabbard fittings match the crossguards. The ball is pushed in and all four scabbard screws remain tightly intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The reverse of the lower crossguard is marked "Wf". The brown hardwood grip looks good! It has a chip that appears to have been glued back in to the obverse upper right corner. You will need an eye-loop to find it. The reverse upper left corner has a flake missing and normal pressure marks. The solid nickel eagle retains beautiful details and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel has a perfect fit and retains 80%+ of its enamel.
