Nice example of a completely matching 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger by Carl Eickhorn! The blade on this one has some age. The acid etched “Original Eickhorn Solingen” maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed! It has a perfect tip and perfect fit. The blade on this one rates a solid Exc+. The leather buffer pad remains intact. The airplane grey plated scabbard looks excellent! It depicts awesome details throughout, with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. It has a small hit to the trailing edge 3" north of the tip. The throat retaining screw remains intact! The aluminum crossguard, steel ferrule and pommel all look awesome! The eagle has amazing detail to its head, feathers, wings and top side oak leaves and acorns. The pommel is beautifully hand enhanced and has some gilding remaining to the swas's. The early trylon grip has aged to a nice orange over time, one tone darker to the obverse. The grip is in perfect shape! The aluminum springy wire wrap remains tightly intact. This is an good example and is a piece you will feel proud to own!
