Fresh out of the woodwork from the Vet's family 2 weeks ago. The fouled anchor etched blade on this is pretty beat. with lots of pitting the worse of which is towards the tip. The acid etch, maker mark is clear. The original buffer pad remains intact. The scabbard on this one has wee hits and has toned with age. There is no lightning bolt pattern. Both throat retaining screws remain intact. The scabbard / hilt fit is tightly secured by the well working button. The crossguard and Third Reich eagle pommel all perfectly match the scabbard in color and patina. The wood based, celluloid covered grip has a miniscule hairline to the lower reverse. This came with broken grip wire which I replaced. You would not know had I not told you. The grip still retains a nice off-white tone and is a nice contrast to the brass twisted wire wrap, which remains tightly secured and all intact. A decent piece with a great price!
