Rare medallion awarded to officers on the famous Japanese battleship Kongō when she completed maneuvers in 1934. There were only 60 Officers on the Kongō. this ship participated in most major actions in the Pacific war, (Midway, Guadalcanal, Truk, Leyte Gulf) and most of these lie at the bottom of the Formosa Straight. She is the only Battleship sunk by a US sub in WWII. Award is nicely patinaed and comes in wood presentation box.
