Here we have a 2nd Pattern S-Boat War Badge by Schwerin! The badge is constructed out of a die-struck, zinc base that has been blackened, silver washed and gold gilded construction. To the obverse we have the larger type S-boat breaking through the sea below a kriegsmarine eagle (with out-stretched wings, clutching a cut-out mobile swastika within its talons), which is then all encompassed by an oak leaf and acorn wreath. The reverse of the badge is correctly marked: "Fec. W. E. Peekhaus Berlin Ausf. Schwerin Berlin 68". It has the correct horizontal; soldered block hinge, soldered round plate flat wire catch and coke bottle pin, along with the vertical crimped round wire top hook. Nice finish remains. The details throughout the ship, waves and eagle are superb! The revers eshows typical zinc bubbling. See the "The Kriegsmarine Awards" book pg. 628. Nice!
