We have here an unmarked, die struck, tombak based, gilded Kriegsmarine U-Boat Badge by Schwerin. The obverse depicts a U-Boat that is surrounded by a laurel leaf wreath and is all below a Kriegsmarine eagle, with outstretched wings, clutching a swastika in its talons. The obverse has three cut out swastika arms. The reverse is a solid back with no markings. It has the correct rectangular block hinge, soldered flat wire catch, and coke bottle shaped pin. The head has been somewhat damaged and the flag is broke off. It shows wear and good gilding to the obverse. See Vol. 1 pg. 54-55 of Weber & Skora's "The Kriegsmarine Awards" book.
