An early nickel-silver example by Paul Weyersberg! The plated blade on this one looks great! The crisp maker mark is perfectly executed! It has a wonderful plated mirror like finish! It has a tight fit and the tip is perfect! The blade rates NM. It shows the common runner marks. The original blue pebbled leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based blue pebbled leather scabbard body remains in great condition! It continues to hold nice color and 100%+ coverage! The early nickel-silver scabbard fittings look great and remain nice and bright! The obverse of the top fitting is personalized 'R" in a shield, Jagdgeschwader 2. It has been darkened. A nice job! All five screws remain intact! The early nickel-silver chain has 14 lower and 9 upper ringlets that ends at a DRGM marked clip! One of the connectors has been replaced. The nickel-silver hilt fittings look excellent, matching the scabbard fittings quite nicely! All four separately inserted brass based gold gilded sun wheel swastikas look beautiful! The grip leather remains in excellent condition as well! The triple wire wrap continues to remain tightly intact! A wonderful personalized piece associated with a famous Battle of Britain fighter group!
