A Bronze Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen by Josef Feix & Söhne of Gablonz in its Issue Packet. The Bronze Infantry Assault Badge was awarded to Motorized/Mechanized Infantry troops who had taken part in combat action on different days and met the required award criteria. It is constructed out of a die struck, zinc-alloy base that has been bronze washed and black burnished and finished in a lacquer coating. The oval shaped obverse depicts a rifle and bayonet below a Heer closed winged eagle clutching a mobile swastika within its talons. This is all surrounded by an acorn and oak leaf wreath that is tied together at the bottom. The full back reverse of the badge is clearly maker marked “JFS” (Josef Feix & Söhne, Gablonz) within a rectangular border. It also features the correct; crimped buntmetall ball hinge, crimped steel catch and sturdy buntmetall round wire pin. They all remain in well working condition and are non-magnetic. The details continue to display wonderfully! It measures approximately 2 7/16 inches tall by 1 7/8 inches wide. It comes housed in its original issue paper packet. It measures 3 3/8 inches wide by 4 1/8 inches tall. A great assembly!
