A Deutsche Reichspost Schirmmütze für Beamte by Peter Küpper (Peküro) of Wuppertal-Ronsdorf. It is constructed out of dark blue wool, with a darker blue velvet center-band and orange piping. Attached to the obverse is a die stamped silvered aluminum DRP cap eagle and a tri-color cockade surrounded by an oak leaf and acorn wreath. To each side is a peened on multi piece steel based black enamel painted button that holds the crazed black leather chin cord. Just below the crown and above the buttons are two vent holes to each side, four total. There is a black lacquered visor peak with a cross hatched tan cream underside. It is held on with 50% of its stitching. The interior features a tan leather sweatband that has several small tears. The base of the interior has a clear diamond moisture shield over the Peküro manufacturers logo which reads: “Peter Küpper Wu. Ronsdorf” along with “Stirndruckfrei Deutsches Reichs-Patent” (which has worn out). The exterior is in gorgeous shape!
