RLB Officers Summer Visor Cap

A RLB (Reichsluftschutzbund) Weiße Sommer Schirmmütze für Offiziere. The visor top is constructed out of a light white cotton and white piped crown, with a black velvet center band flanked by silver flatwire piping and a lower blue grey base. Attached to the obverse with two prongs is a silvered aluminum RLB cap eagle and a silver aluminum/flatwire, bullion winged wreathed tri color multi piece cockade. To each side is a peened on multi-piece aluminum/steel based and silver washed pebbled side buttons that hold the silver interwoven bullion chin cord in place. There is a black lacquered visor peak with a cross hatched tan cream underside. The interior features a tan leather sweatband that has vent holes to the forehead and a “Deutsches Leder” stamp to the side. The base of the interior has a white silk lining. The stitching where the clear diamond moisture shield is still intact. To the right side where the center band and crown meet wants to lift up. The exterior shows typical age wear. A very nice one of a kind piece!
