A NSDAP Dienstauszeichnung 1.Stufe in Bronze. This was awarded members of the NSDAP who had given 10 years of service. The three piece award is constructed out of a die struck zinc-alloy base that has been bronze washed. The obverse depicts a centrally placed wreathed German national eagle, with outstretched wings clutching a wreathed swastika in its talons, above a round oak leaf wreath that is tied together at the bottom and a pebbled pattée style cross that has sun bursts visible to the corners. The reverse displays “Treue für Führer und Volk” (Loyalty to Leader and People) in gothic style script, encircled by an oak leaf wreath that is tied together at the bottom and is above that same cross and sun bursts. To the top is an integral loop and ring. It measures approximately 1 5/8 inches wide and tall. 95% of the bronze wash remains intact. The award comes with approximately 9 1/4 inches of original brown and white rayon ribbon. The award and ribbon come housed in the appropriate case. The case is constructed out of pressed cardboard and is covered in a brown simulated grained leather covering. The top of the case features a pressed gilt NSDAP eagle. The interior is lined in a spray on tan fiber with a divider for the award and ribbon. The white paper covered reverse is stamped, in purple: “RZM M1/34” (Friedrich Orth, Wien). It has the odd scuff throughout. A beautiful and complete set perfect for any NSDAP collection!
