A Luftwaffe Fliegerhorst Kommandantur “Ingolstadt” Trompete Fahne. It is constructed out of a linen-buckram base covered in a dual-ply yellow silk/rayon, with machine embroidered gilt bullion and black cotton thread. The obverse features a large Luftwaffe emblem on a yellow backing. The reverse reads, in gothic style script: “Fliegerhorstkommandantur” arched above “Ingolstadt” on a yellow backing. The fly ends are lined in a twisted silver aluminum wire fringe. It has the odd thread catch, yet remains 95%+ intact. The hoist end has a flat rod running through the length of it and ends at a steel lightly oxidized well working clip to each side. There is one 2mm hole below the eagles beak and are soil spots throughout. It measures approximately 19 1/2 x 14 1/2. A great Luftwaffe display piece!
