Straight from the Veterans family! A decent blade with good crossgrain. There are some old hits to the edges like kids played "swords", they will catch your nail. This is beautifully etched A. W. Jr. Solingen and has a perfect tip. The blade rates a Exc. There are a few fingerprint stains. The original leather buffer pad remains intact. The silver plated scabbard provides wonderful detail throughout with the hand enhanced bands and random pebbling throughout. The scabbard retains its original single throat retaining screw and remains completely dent free! The unique Wingen crossguard is crisp with beautiful details throughout especially to the eagles wings, talons and wreath. It is silver plated with an excellent finish. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns throughout. The celluloid over wood grip has a crack half way through. It has some dirt to its crevasses but that's about it. This one also comes with the portepee! Truly a great piece, I would jump on it before someone else does!
