A 1st Variation - Kriegsabzeichen für Marineartillerie by C. E. Juncker of Berlin. The Navy Coastal Artillery Badge was awarded to the crews of Kriegsmarine land-based marine artillery and anti-aircraft units. It is constructed out of a die struck tombak base that has been gold gilded, silver washed and black burnished. The obverse depicts an anti-aircraft gun that is in front of a coast, is below a Kriegsmarine eagle (with out-stretched wings, clutching a swastika within its talons) and is surrounded by an oak leaf wreath that is tied together at the bottom. The full back reverse is correctly designer marked “Fec. Otto Placzek” and maker marked “Ausf. C. E. Juncker Berlin”. It also displays the correct tombak; soldered on block hinge, round wire catch (10% intact) and nickel-silver coke bottle pin. It measures approximately 1 5/8 inches wide by 2 1/8 inches tall. Junckers earliest variation!
