A Cloth Version of a Hitlerjugend Leistungsabzeichen in Silber by RZM A4/134. The Hitler Youth Proficiency Badge was instituted in June 1934 and was awarded to HJ members who successfully passed a four-part aptitude test in athletics (sports), shooting (air-rifle), field exercises and political knowledge. The iron class was awarded to DJ and HJ members up to the age of 15, the bronze class was awarded to sixteen year old HJ members and the silver class was awarded to seventeen year old HJ members. It is constructed out of machine embroidered white and black cotton thread stitched to a black rayon base. The obverse depicts an off centered mobile swastika that is encircled by: “Für Leistungen in der H.J.” (For Proficiency in the H.J.) above a Tyr-rune within a rhomboid shaped diamond border, all in silver, and on a black rectangular base. The reverse features its glued on RZM tag. It measures approximately 3 inches wide by 4 1/2 inches tall. A rare version!
