A Cased Plaque for the 1937 Night Flight to Stuttgart - “City of Displaced/Ethnic Germans”. It is constructed out of a die stamped steel base that has been coper washed. The rectangular shaped obverse displays a double-seater airplane riding above the clouds and cityscape of Stuttgart above “Sternflug 1937 Nach Stuttgard Stadt der Auslandsdeutchen”. The reverse reads: “Der Oberbürgermeister der Stadt der Auslandsdeutschen – Stuttgart” below a rampant horse and “M+W Stuttg.”. It measures 2 ¾ inches wide by 2 inches tall. It comes housed it in its appropriate issue case. It is constructed out of a cardstock base with a faux leatherette exterior. The interior of the lid labeled “Mayer & Wilhelm - Stuttgart-W Rotebühlstrasse 119b”. Very neat!
