A Flugmeldedienst Helferin Abzeichen by J. Preissler of Pforzheim. Female auxiliaries serving in this branch crewed radar stations, listening posts and reporting stations. It is constructed out of a die stamped bronze base that has been bronze washed and contains blue, black, white and red enamel work. The round shaped obverse features a black bomber aircraft flying above a blue lined sky on top of a NSDAP banner. The full back reverse is stamped “48816” and is patented “Ges. Gesch.” and maker marked “J. Preissler Pforzheim”. It also features a horizontally soldered on oval plate pin assembly that remain in well working condition. Nice crisp edges. Cracking throughout the enamel. It measures 1 1/16 in diameter. A rare badge!
