A Lapel Pin - Kriegsabzeichen für Hilfskreuzer. It is constructed out of a die struck zinc that have been gold gilded and silver washed. The oval shaped obverse features a man standing in a Viking long ship, with its sail set, on a world globe, cruising on the globes Atlantic Ocean. This is all below a Kriegsmarine eagle (with outstretched wings clutching a swastika within its talons) and is surrounded by an oak leaf and acorn wreath that is tied together at the bottom. The full back reverse shows a tombak soldered on round plate knurled stickpin. The finish is a bit worn. The head measures approximately 1/2 inches wide by 5/8 of an inch tall. hard to find!
