A NSFK Flugzeugführerabzeichen für Motorflugzeuge (3.Form). Instituted July 12, 1938 by NSFK-Korpsführer General der Flieger Christiansen. It is constructed out of a die struck zinc-alloy base that has been silver washed. The slightly vaulted obverse features a centrally placed soaring eagle surrounded by an oak leaf wreath that is tied together at the bottom and is below an NSFK emblem, which features; the Greek god ‘Icarus’ behind a mobile swastika. The full back reverse correctly reads: “GM No 111241” and features; a soldered on nickel-silver sheet metal hinge, soldered on round plate tombak round wire catch and round wire nickel-silver pin. All of the components remain working well and are non-magnetic. The badge features beautiful crisp detail! It measures 2 3/16 inches high by 2 1/16 inches wide. In my opinion the maker is Gustav Brehmer of Markneukirchen. A very rare award...
