A Transitional Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by Ed. Wüsthof of Solingen. The ricassoed blade on this one looks great. The stamped “RZM M7/12 1940” ricasso and “Ed. Wüsthof Solingen Ges. Gesch.” maker mark are beautifully executed. Traces of its original crossgrain remain. The fit continues to remain nice and tight and the tip comes to a sharp point. The blade rates an Exc++/NM. It shows surface scratches and age grey throughout. The original black leather buffer remains intact. The steel based black enamel painted scabbard is in excellent condition! 95%+ of its original paint coverage remains intact. It remains completely dent free. The scabbard leather is in excellent condition, only minor crazing. It has all of its rivets intact and the snap continues to work well. The zinc based nickel-silver plated hilt retains approximately 75% of its plating. The grip plates are black checkered bakelite. Both steel rivets remain tightly secured. The HJ diamond retains 99%+ of its enamel. A fine transitional Hitler Youth Knife.
