A Westmark Gau Day Badge 1939 by Julius Maurer of Oberstein. It is construed out of die struck zinc base that has been chemically blackened. The obverse features an eagle perched upon a swastika, overlooking the Westwall fortifications, above “Westmark Gautag 1939 9.11 Juni in Trier”. The full back reverse is maker marked "RZM M9/41" (Julius Maurer G.m.b.H., Oberstein) and has a horizontally crimped on well working steel pin assembly. It measures approximately 1 1/4 inches wide by 1 13/16 inches tall. A soild piece!
