Etui zum Flak-Kampfabzeichen der Luftwaffe. The case is constructed out of a wood and pressed cardboard base that is covered in a simulated grained blue leather (Lederimitat). To the front is a round plated steel spring loaded push button. To the back is a steel, staggered, piano hinge. To the very top in pressed gold foil Gothic style script it reads: “Flak-Kampf-Abz.”. The interior-bottom of the case is constructed out of a pressed cardboard base that is covered in a dark blue spray on fibrous felt material that outlines a pin, hinge and catch assembly. The interior top is covered in a blue lined silk-rayon above a pad. I am sure you could remove either interior portion. There are some cracks to the front base exterior along with some glue to the very corner were someone likely tried to put the leather back on. There is typical wear throughout. The case measures approximately 3 inches wide by 3 3/16 inches deep and 1 inch thick. This could be used for any flak badge and I believe it is most appropriate for the “Ball Hinge” / Adolf Scholze of Grünwald a. N. Flak Badge. Flak Badges cases are tough to come by!
