A 1st Model (1934/35) Airforce Dagger (Luftwaffe Fliegerdolch). The blade on this one has some age and wear. It must have been personalized at some point right near the hilt cause if you turn the blade just so you can see that it has some grind marks there where the original owner removed his name. It is not maker marked. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point! The blade rates an easy Exc/Exc+. The original blue pebbled leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The wood based blue pebbled, leather scabbard body looks good. It shows common wear/scuffs from the chain. 99%+ of the leather coverage remains intact. The silvered aluminum scalloped scabbard fittings remain nice and bright. The fittings are tightly secured with all five original screws! The patinaed aluminum chain has 9 lower and 7 upper ringlets that ends at a well working “Ges. Gesch. OLC” (Overhoff & Cie., Lüdenscheid) marked clip. The hilt looks excellent! The four gold gilded sun wheel swastikas are just beautiful! The grip leather matches the scabbard quite nicely! It shows period age wear, scuffs and toning. The dual double twist wire wrap remains tightly intact. A Nice example with a great hilt.
