The Ernst Heinkel Flugzeugwerke were a restricted areas and could only be entered with the correct documents. The metal frame identification card was created to make it more difficult to counterfeit documents that would give unauthorized individuals access to war important factories or Wehrmacht, Luftwaffe and Kriegsmarine depots. The document is mounted inside a metal frame which is riveted through the photo of the owner of the ID. It is 1943-1944 marked.
