A Transitional Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by Arthur Schüttelhöfer & Co. of Solingen-Wald. The ricassoed, mottoed blade on this one looks excellent! The “Blut und Ehre!” motto, “RZM M7/13” and “Arthur Schüttelhöfer & Co. Solingen-Wald” maker marks are dark, crisp and beautifully executed! Traces of crossgrain remain visible. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates an Exc++. It has one hit to the cutting edge along with age grey and surface scratches throughout. The original black leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based black enamel painted scabbard looks excellent. It retains 95%+ paint coverage and remains completely dent free! The folded black leather strap is in excellent condition. It retains all of its rivets and the snap continues to work very well! The leather is marked “L.F.S.”. The steel based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 95%+ of its plated finish. The black bakelite checkered grip plates are in perfect shape and are secured by two nickel-silver rivets. The HJ diamond is gorgeous, retaining 99%+ of its enamel! A beautiful piece you are sure to be happy with.
