A Heeres Schirmmütze für Offiziere der Panzertruppe by Peter Küpper (Peküro) of Wuppertal-Ronsdorf. It is constructed out of quality field grey wool, with a dark green center band and pink piping. Attached to the obverse is a die stamped, aluminum based, silver washed army cap eagle and multi piece tricolor cockade and silvered wreath. To the sides are two peened on multi piece aluminum/steel silvered pebbled side buttons that hold the silver aluminum chin cord in place. The front also features a black lacquered visor peak with a cross hatched light brown underside. The interior features a tan sweatband that has visible stitching to the side and visor peak. Nice silk bow tie to the reverse. Underneath the sweat band it is sized 58. The base of the lining has a clear moisture shield (one minor crack) over the manufacturers logo which reads, in silver: “Peküro Stirndruckfrei Deutsches Reichspatent W. Allmeier Meiningen”. The sweat band shows minor age wear/staining throughout. This is going to make for a beautiful display!
