Afrikakorps Ärmelstreiffen. The Afrika Cufftitle was introduced on January 18th 1941 and was for wear by members of the Deutsches Afrikakorps (DAK - German Africa Corps). With the introduction of the “Afrika” campaign cufftitle the Afrikakorps cufftitle was ordered to be removed. Most personnel who had worn the Afrikakorps cufftitle would have been eligible for the Afrika cufftitle. It is constructed out of machine woven silver aluminum flatwire and dark green and tan rayon base. The obverse features, in flatwire “AFRIKAKORPS” which is above a dark green backing and is horizontally bordered in flatwire and tan with chain link stitching to the edges. It has the odd loose thread catch. It retains nice bright color! It measures approximately 10 1/2 inches long by 1 1/4 inches tall. It has been shortened. A great piece!
