A IJA EM/NCO Wool Field Cap. It is constructed out of a multi-piece khaki-colored wool material that has been stitched together. The front center features a separately applied yellow wool star on top of pentagon backing, that is above a crazed leather chin strap and a stiffened beak. The double leather chin strap comes complete with two adjustable leather sliders and is held on to the cap with two brass chrysanthemum flower buttons that are held to the cap with two prongs to each side. The sides each feature three grommet ventilation holes. It is named with stitching to the one side and there is a patch to the other. The back shows six grommets with an adjustable olive cotton string running through them. The interior is lined in a course weaved muslin-type material. It shows mothing holes throughout. A nice cap!
