An Issue Case for a Luftwaffe Observer Badge. Most appropriate for an early (J1 or J2) Luftwaffe Observer Badge by C.E. Juncker of Berlin. The case is constructed out of a wood and pressed cardboard base that is covered in a simulated grained blue leatherette. To the front is a steel round push button. To the back is a gilded steel, staggered, piano hinge. To the very top in the gold foil Gothic style script it reads: “Beobachterabz.”. The interior-bottom of the case is constructed out of a pressed cardboard base that is covered in a dark blue fibrous felt material and outlines the pin, hinge and catch assembly. The interior top is covered in a purple satin. The interior satin hinge remains 25% intact. The bottom shows age wear. The case measures approximately 3 inches wide and 3 3/16 inches deep and 15/16 of an inch thick. It could also be appropriate for an F. W. Assmann & Sohn of Lüdenscheid Luftwaffe Observer Badge.
