A Reichsarbeitsdienst der weiblichen Jugend (RADwJ) Erinnerungsbrosche silber für Maidenunterführerin. This was awarded to women between the ages of 21 and 35 who had passed their tests and gave honorable service to the RADwJ. It is constructed out of an injection molded zinc-alloy base that has been silver washed and black burnished. The oval shaped obverse depicts the RADwJ emblem (a mobile swastika above two sheaths of wheat), surrounded by a decorative circular lined pattern, which is again surrounded by (and bordered in) a decorative twisted rope coil patterns, all above a pebbled backing. The semi-hollow reverse has a well working, peened on, horizontal, steel pin, hinge and catch assembly. There is minor oxidization. It measures 1 3/4 inches wide by 1 5/16 inches tall. A great RADwJ piece! A multitude of variations and patterns!
