Navy EM/NCO Cap Eagle and Cockade

Here we have a second pattern Navy (Kreigsmarine) EM/NCO Cap Eagle and Cockade! This would be appropriate for the "Donald Duck" style sailor's cap (Mannschaftsmütze). The eagle is constructed out of die stamped tombak base that has been gold gilded. Soldered to it is a national tri-color (red, white and black) cockade which is constructed out of an aluminum-alloy, black pressed cardboard and a ref felt plug. The obverse features a Kreigsmarine open winged eagle clutching a wreathed swastika within its talons above a cockade. The hollow back reverse has a soldered on and knurled tombak stickpin and has a soldered on plate that holds the pronged cockade in place. It measures approximately 2 inches wide by 1 ¾ inches tall. A fine piece.
