Early experimental Luftwaffe Belt Buckle

Please note this item is no longer available and you were redirected to our Archives.

A highly desired buckle among collectors! This one is the earlier first pattern variation, that is in excellent condition. It's a very short run "crank catch"! Very nice! It is constructed out of a single piece, die struck aluminum that has been silver washed. The obverse depicts a centrally placed, first pattern, Luftwaffe open winged, droop tail eagle clutching a mobile swastika in one of its talons, that is all encircled by a laurel leaf wreath, and all lies on a pebbled background. The reverse steel prongs and crank catch remain in excellent condition! This has the die characteristics of C.v. Schonebeck, and is unmarked. An excellent addition for your collection!
