A beauty example with the rare early leather scabbard. It retains a super 1915 dated blade. It has a solid fit and sharp tip! The reverse is maker marked and the spine correctly proofed. The revers is serialized "164R.8.144." exactly matching the scabbard. The blade rates NM. The undented leather scabbard body has light wear. It has staple secured steel fittings that are in nice shape. The throat retaining screw remains intact and unturned. The grooved hardwood grip plates have normal wear but no chips or splits. They are secured with spanner bolts. The button works well. Included is an unmarked frog, (At least I don't see any marks). The frog is well worn and a bit loose but quite correct, few have survived. The whole piece matches in age and patina. A wonderful 100yr old example!
