A quality matching example by Horster. The blade on this one looks good. The acid etched "E & F Horster Solingen" maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed! The crossgrain is good and runs the full length of the blade. The fit is perfect and the tip comes to a sharp point. The blade rates Exc+. It shows age grey throughout along with a slightly repointed and evidence of old fingerprints. The light brown leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based and nickel-silver plated scabbard is in excellent condition. It provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling and hand enhanced oak leaves and acorn bands. It also remains completely dent free and the single more efficient throat retaining screw remain intact. The alloy based and nickel-silver plated eagle crossguard also provides crisp details throughout the head, wings, wreath and chest. Look at all the remaining factory lacquer! It only shows little finish wear throughout. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns! The yellow trylon grip is in excellent condition! No chips cracks or splits. All of the patina nicely matches throughout.
