A Model 1935 - Wehrmacht Heer Dolch für Offiziere by SMF of Solingen (Solinger Metallwarenfabrik Stoecker & Co.). The blade on this one looks excellent! The acid etched "SMF Solingen" maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed! The crossgrain is easily visible and stunning as you shine it in the light! The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point! The blade rates an easy Exc++/NM. It shows the common spotting and surface scratches throughout. The large leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based, nickel silver plated scabbard provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling and oak leaf and acorn bands! There is a crack to both bands. The scabbard remains dent free. The original throat retaining screws remains intact. The alloy based, nickel silver plated unique early SMF eagle crossguard provides beautiful details throughout the eagle’s head, wings, wreath, beak and chest. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns throughout. The crossguard, scabbard and pommel all match in color, plating and patina. The warm orange grip on this one looks great. This one comes with a well worn portepee as well!
