An good example of a 2nd Model Kreigsmarine Dagger 1938 by Carl Eickhorn! The acid etched fouled anchor blade on this one looks good. It has dark etching and the blade suffers some graying and the tip has a wee bend. The stamped "Original Eickhorn Solingen" maker mark is nicely stamped. The tip comes to a sharp point, blade on this one rates Exc+. The original brown felt buffer pad continues to remain intact. The lightning bolt style scabbard is brass based with lots of wear. It depicts nice detail especially with the hand enhancing towards the tip. It has wear and a small dents to the lower end. Both throat retaining screws remain intact. The button continues to work well and tightly secures the scabbard to the hilt. The crossguard and pommel are brass basedwith wear that matches the scabbard. The Kriegsmarine eagle pommel is beautifully detailed! The grip is wood based and covered in white celluloid. It continues to remain in good shape except there is a crack just above the release button to the reverse. The brass double twisted wire wrap remains tightly intact! Finally finishng this nicely is a decent portepee that's been there forever.
