Please note this item is no longer available and you were redirected to our Archives.

A rare, early slant grip, tapered tang Model 1935 - Wehrmacht Heer Dolch by Christianswerk of Solingen. The blade on this one is fair. The acid etched fork “Christianswerk Solingen” maker mark is dark and nicely executed. The tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates Exc/Exc+. It shows heavy age grey and surface scratches throughout. The large leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based, nickel silver plated scabbard provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands. There is one pressure mark to the reverse. The original throat retaining screws remains intact. The tombak based nickel-silver plated eagle crossguard provides beautiful details throughout the eagle’s head, wings, wreath, beak and chest. The tombak based pommel (seized) and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns throughout. The grip is the desirable orange trylon slant grip. There is a crack to it but it doesn’t run to either end. Minor speckling and no chips. A rare example that you will likely not come by again for a long time…

Rating:    Exc++
