Please note this item is no longer available and you were redirected to our Archives.

An early, rare, slant grip, tapered tang Model 1935 - Wehrmacht Heer Dolch by J. A. Henckles of Solingen. The blade on this one looks fine. The acid etched “J. A. Henckles Solingen” maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed. The crossgrain is easily visible as you shine it in the light. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a sharp point. The blade rates Exc+. It has been sharpened leaving the edges with scratch marks and the tip slightly dulled. The large leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based, nickel silver plated scabbard provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands. It remains completely dent free. The original throat retaining screws remains intact. The heavily hand enhanced tombak based nickel-silver eagle crossguard provides beautiful craftsmanship throughout the eagle’s head, wings, wreath, beak and chest. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns throughout. The orange trylon slant grip is in wonderful condition. No cracks or chips. If you can live with a slightly sharpened blade, you’ve got a rare excellent piece!
