A good example by Carl Eickhorn! The tapered tang blade on this one has a dark and crisp acid etched early double oval "Original Eickhorn Solingen" maker mark is beautifully executed! The crossgrain is good. The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit is nice and tight! The blade has some age and spotting it rates a solid Exc+. The brown leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based and nickel-silver plated dent-free scabbard is in good condition! It suffers minor wear. The original throat retaining screws remain tightly intact. The alloy based nickel-silver plated Eickhorn 1st pattern crossguard provides crisp details throughout the straight head, wings, wreath and chest all highlighted by the patina! The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with the proudly displayed oak leaves and acorns! The orange slant grip is damage-free. Rare to find an Eickhorn with a slant grip. A nice evenly patinaed example with original potepee.
