A great looking example! This bayonet was designed to fit the Modelo Argentino 1909 Mauser Infantry Rifle. It was manufactured in Germany under contract. The 15 ¾ inch long, single fuller straight blade on this one looks great. It is marked to the obverse “Modelo Argentino 1909” and has remnants of the Argentine Crest (this is usually ground off when released from the arsenal as surplus wares) along with “L 1465”. The spine is marked “A” and the reverse is marker marked “Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Co Solingen”. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a sharp point. The blade rates NM. It shows minor age and some common surface scratches throughout. The steel based and black anodized scabbard looks excellent! It retains a nice and dark finish and remains completely dent free. The ball is marked “RA”, the reverse and throat are inspection stamped and the obverse is also serialized matching the blade. The throat retaining screws remain intact. The hilt is nickel-silver plated. The button continues to work well. The wood grip plates show the common pressure marks. They continue to be tightly secured by two rivets. Finally the correct well marked frog remains. A great looking bayonet in extra ordinary condition!
