2nd pattern - 29 Waffen Grenadier Division der SS Italienische Nr. 1 Kragenpatte. This insignia was worn by both the Italian SS Brigade, after June 15, 1944 and the German cadre assigned to the Brigade (and later Division). It was also issued for bravery shown during the Allied Anzio landings. It is constructed out of a tan buckram base that has been covered in a black wool with stitched on white/grey and red cotton thread. The parallelogram shaped obverse features a white/grey and red accented Italian fasces on a black base. The reverse features the tan lacquered buckram base to the center surrounded by black wool with white stitching. It measures 2 inches wide by 1/2 inches tall. A great piece!
