A great matching example here! The more desirable plated blade on this one looks great! The stamped "Paul Weyersberg & Co Solingen" maker mark and proof mark just above it are beautifully executed! It has a perfect tip and perfect fit. The plating looks great as well, giving it a nice mirror like finish! The blade on this one rates an Exc++/NM. It shows runner marks and the odd surface scratch. The original blue pebbled buffer pad remains intact. The correct steel based, plated scabbard looks excellent! It depicts awesome details throughout with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. It remains completely dent free and the two headless retaining screws remain intact! The burnished aluminum Luftwaffe eagle crossguard has good detail to its head, feathers, wings and top side oak leaves and acorns. The burnished aluminum pommel is beautifully hand enhanced to the sides and gilded. The gilding is worn but is there. The early chip and crack-free trylon grip has aged to a nice warm orange one tone darker to the obverse. It has a few wee hits and soil from normal period wear. The aluminum springy wire wrap remains tightly intact. A nicely matching Paul Weyersberg piece.
