Minty - Early Issue Case for a Luftwaffen Fliegerschützenabzeichen. The case is constructed out of a wood and pressed cardboard base that is covered in a simulated grained blue leather (Lederimitat). To the front is a round plated steel spring loaded push button. To the back is a steel, staggered, piano hinge. To the very top is a gold foil Gothic style script which reads: “Luftwaffen- fliegerschützen - Abzeichen”. The interior-bottom of the case is constructed out of a pressed cardboard base that is covered in a blue purple velvet material that outlines a pin, hinge and catch assembly. The interior top is covered in a blue satin above a pad. The odd scuff and a small tear towards the exterior hige. The case measures 2 11/16 inches wide by 3 inches deep and 15/16 of an inch thick. Most Appropriate for a badge by F. W. Assmann & Söhne of Lüdenscheid. These don’t come up too often…
