An Early Model 1933 Personalized SA Dagger by Ernst Grah of Solingen-Wald. This one rates 9 out of 10 for rarity on McSaar's SA rarity rating! The blade on this one has some age. The acid etched “Alles für Deutschland” motto and maker mark are clear and like other examples by these guys it's not done that sharply. Some crossgrain remains. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip has a wee bent 2 mm for the tip, you can feel it with your nail. It shows the commonly seen age spotting and surface scratches throughout. The steel based, posy-war chromed scabbard looks good! Seen this many times as returning Vet's did this sort of thing as might have motorcycle types. Regardless the scabbard body and upper fitting are chromed. The lower and the throat are not. It continues to remain completely dent free! It retains 100% coverage. The solid nickel scabbard fittings look excellent! The ball has a wee bend. All four scabbard screws remain tightly intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is good and closes with a snap! The reverse of the lower crossguard is marked “He”. The brown hardwood grip looks great other than a microscopic flake to the upper right reverse crosssguard fit. The grip shows small pressure marks from normal use throughout. The solid nickel eagle retains beautiful details and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel has nice patina, a perfect fit and retains 99%+ of its enamel. Good candidate for repaint.
