A Deutschen Volksgemeinschaft Westmark (D.V.G) Reichsgau Westmark Nationalsozialistische Parteiabzeichen by Werner Redo of Saarlautern. During German occupation of the Reichsgau Westmark (Saarland/Rheinpfalz and CdZ-Area Lothringen), inhabitants could obtain German citizenship by becoming members of the Deutschen Volksgemeinschaft (D.V.G). It is constructed out of a die struck nickel-silver base that has been silver washed and contains red, white and black enamel work. The round shaped obverse depicts a red translucent pebbled mobile swastika on a white backing, encircled by: “D.V.G. Westmark (Lothr.)” on a black backing. The slightly concave reverse shows a soldered oval plate pin assembly that remains in well working condition. The back is also marked “W. Redo Saarlautern”. The enamel work is in beautiful condition. The pin measures approximately 15/16 of an inch in diameter. A nice rarer variation!
