Model 1938 - Deutsches Rotes Kreuz Hauer für Mannschaften und Unterführer. The bright blade on this one looks beautiful! The crossgrain is easily visible and the sharp teeth to the saw back are in perfect condition! It is stamped “Ges. Geschützt.” To the obverse under the crossguard. The fit is perfect. The blade rates Exc++/NM. It shows minor spotting, age grey, runner rest marks, and the common surface scratches throughout. The brown leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based, black enamel painted scabbard looks great. It shows the common spidering throughout. It continues to retain 80% paint coverage and it remains completely dent free. The steel based, nickel-silver plated scabbard fittings look excellent. They match the hilt’s patina perfectly. All four scabbard screws continue to remain intact. The zinc-alloy based nickel-silver plated hilt looks excellent! The Third Reich red cross medallion on the crossguard has fine vaulting and detail. The correct bakelite checkered/smooth grip plates are in perfect condition! They are tightly secured by two oxidized steel screws. This one also comes with an excellent black leather frog that is marked “B”. It retains all of its rivets and stitching. Included with this one at no charge is a red cross portepee. Please note that some question its authenticity. Overall this is an excellent example you are sure to be happy with!
