An Early Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by Paul Seilheimer of Solingen. The blade on this one looks decent. The stamped “PS Solingen” maker mark and “Gesetzl. Geschützt” patent mark are both beautifully executed. The acid etched “Blut und Ehre!” motto is only slightly visible if you shine it just right in the light. The blade rates an Exc. It shows heavy age grey, spotting and surface scratches and it has been slightly sharpened. The buffer pad is lost to time. The scabbard is steel based and black painted. The painted finish has been cleaned off. It shows a faint scratched on personalization to the obverse which reads: “Schiol”. Likely the paint was cleaned off to remove the personalization. It remains completely dent free. The brown scabbard leather is longer than usual yet it is 100% unmessed with and has an “LFS” mark to the reverse. All of its rivets are intact and the snap continues to work well. The steel based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 90% of its plating. The grip plates are black checkered bakelite. They are in perfect condition. The solid nickel-silver rivets remain tightly secured. The HJ diamond retains 95%+ of its enamel. A neat and unique Hitler Youth Knife!
