An Early Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by Justus Brenger (Justinuswerk) of Solingen-Wald. The blade on this one looks decent. The stamped “Justinus Solingen” maker mark and “Ges. Geschützt” patent mark are both beautifully executed. The acid etched “Blut und Ehre!” motto is remains visible if you shine it just right in the light. The blade rates an Exc. It shows heavy age grey, spotting and surface scratches. The fit is loose due to the grip plate crack and no buffer pad. The scabbard is steel based and black painted. It retains the majority of its pint coverage. There are three pressure marks. The black scabbard leather is in good condition. It has all of its rivets intact and the snap continues to work well. The steel based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 90% of its plating. The grip plates are black checkered bakelite. They are cracked to both sides. The solid nickel-silver rivets remain tightly secured. The HJ diamond retains 95% of its enamel. A nice unique Hitler Youth Knife!
