A Rare Early Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by Klittermann & Moog of Haan b/Solingen. The blade on this one is sharpened and rough. The stamped “Klittermann & Moog G.m.b.H. Haan b/Solingen” maker mark and “Ges. Geschützt” patent mark are both beautifully executed. The acid etched “Blut und Ehre!” motto is only slightly visible from B to E if you shine it just right in the light. The blade rates a Exc. It shows heavy age grey, spotting and surface scratches and it has been sharpened. The buffer pad is lost to time. The scabbard is steel based and black painted. It shows some oxidizatyion spotting to the bottom reverse yet remains completely dent free and a retains 95% of its paint coverage. The blackened scabbard leather retains all of its rivets and the snap continues to work well. The steel based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 85% of its plating. The grip plates are black checkered bakelite. They show a few chips. The solid nickel-silver rivets remain tightly secured. The HJ diamond retains 90%+ of its enamel. A rare early maker mark!
