A M1938 - 2nd Model Kriegsmarine Dolch für Offiziere by WKC of Solingen. The plain double fullered, double edged blade on this one looks decent. The stamped knights head “WKC Solingen” maker mark is beautifully executed. The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit is nice and tight! The blade on this one rates Exc+. It shows heavy age grey/spotting throughout. The original red felt buffer pad remains intact. The lightning bolt style scabbard is brass based and gold gilded. It depicts wonderful details especially with the hand enhancing towards the tip. It has one or two minor pressure marks. Both throat retaining screws remain intact. The push button continues to work well and tightly secures the scabbard to the hilt. The crossguard and pommel are brass based and gold gilded. The proudly perched kriegsmarine eagle pommel are beautifully detailed! The grip is wood based and covered in white celluloid. It is in excellent condition no cracks or chip. The dual brass wire wrap remains tightly intact. The “cats-ass” portepee is well worn. It is not correctly tied but it has been that way forever. An inexpensive option!
